Chief Investigator
The Public Defender employs its own staff investigators who assist
attorneys in investigating criminal, juvenile and parental rights
cases. A critical component of representation by an attorney is
the preparation involved in assessing a client’s situation
and in mounting a defense on the client’s behalf, whether
the allegations are that the client has committed a crime or is
an unfit parent. The staff investigators locate and interview witnesses,
research and obtain documents, serve subpoenas, and generally assist
in other phases of case preparation.
